Ed McGowan

This successful product manager suffered from layoffs in the tech industry. Ed is now a senior product manager at LogicMonitor, working on a product he was inspired by in a growing industry.

Ed was impacted by layoffs at Wayfair and quickly jumped into job search mode. He started to apply for roles, logging onto LinkedIn, finding new jobs that were posted, and sending his resume out. But it was not smooth sailing — he felt he was targeting places all over the place and didn't have much of a strategy.

He had some luck getting interviews and even final rounds. Six months went by, and he did not have a job. He wasn't getting enough interviews, even for roles where he was a good fit. He started to lose confidence.

At this point, he decided to change things. He joined the Intentional Job Search program. He made his introduction and his stories inspiring, substantive, and engaging. He got feedback from coaches and kept interviewing. He networked with other members of the community and helped them while seeking their help.

If I were to describe my experience in a few words, it would be transformative. With the newfound skills and confidence, Ed was able to target his job search, interview confidently, and land an offer on a product he is excited about.
